How We Handle Legal Requests

The South Asian Story will not comply with takedown orders that lack a clear legal basis in an internationally recognised legal framework. All government takedown orders are reviewed by legal counsel before compliance or refusal. Legitimate orders are logged here and published in this annual report. We follow the model established by Google, Twitter/X, and Wikimedia in publishing all such requests transparently.

Any government authority requesting removal of content from this platform is logged below with full details — jurisdiction, legal basis, content targeted, and our response. All orders are reviewed by legal counsel. Orders lacking a clear basis in an internationally recognised legal framework are refused.
